ABOUT ANDREA TOTARO
Andrea is an Italian structural engineer and architect. Graduated in Buildings Engineering and Architecture with honors at the University of Bari in 2009. Gained the engineer chartership in Italy with the Order of Engineers, he started his professional activity in the field of structural design, constantly keeping academic training as well. He holds a II Level Master degree from the University Roma3, regarding the themes of the seismic design and assessment of structures. Then he took a PhD in Recovery of Historical Buildings and Contemporary at the University of Brescia, and won two research fellowship to study innovative bridge retrofitting techniques. He\'s author of several scientific publications regarding his academic and professional works, and has presented in many national and international conferences. He\'s also chartered architect in Italy from 2012. His professional activities is mainly related to the the structural design of structures, from the conceptual design to the detailed level, both in buildings and infrastructure sector, with particular attention to the theme of the bridge, having worked with a leading national company of the sector. The growing interest for large scale projects, in a multicultural environment, led him to start a new international experience in London, with one of the major consultancies, Mott MacDonald. His strong professional committment recently led him to become a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Enginners. With this new achievement decided to take higher rensponsibilities with another major consultancy of the sector, CH2M (now Jacobs) where he started as a Senior Bridge Engineer and he\'s currently working as Associate Director of Bridge.
