Feb 2022 ~ Now: Databricks May 2018 ~ Jan 2022: I work on Spanner (a globally distributed, strongly consistent, highly reliable database service)(https://cloud.google.com/spanner/). I led a team, launched customer managed encryption key feature for cloud spanner (https://cloud.google.com/spanner/docs/cmek) and features for internal use Spanner.Oct, 2014 ~ May, 2018: I served as TL of a SRE team. We focused on Reliability, Scalability and Maintainability of Cloud IAM (Identity and Access Control), Cloud IAP and the Google internal counterpart of Cloud IAM called Zanzibar: ai.google/research/pubs/pub48190. Cloud IAM is the core authorization service for all of Google Cloud Platform. Every API call to Google\'s cloud is authorized by IAM. It is one of the most critical services with very high availability and throughput requirements.Feb 2011 ~ July 2014: I was a graduate student focusing on Video Compression standard (HEVC and AVS2) and algorithms. I was the core engineer who wrote the initial version of AVS2 reference software and played an important role in maintaining it.
