I bet on myself and take on roles that challenge me. I\'m looking for a next challenge.The Backstory:Born in Portoviejo, Ecuador, I was 8 when my family moved to New Jersey. My first job was babysitting my brother.(I got paid in room and board and (bonus) learned English by watching him watch cartoons.) By 8th grade, I was in AVID, an NC Board of Ed program that helps disadvantaged students reach their full academic potential.Then, the day before I turned 15, I went to American Eagle and got hired. Their marketing outside always caught my attention - and I wanted to be able to buy my own jeans. My parents always said, “If you want something, you gotta buy it.” (Nothing’s ever been handed to me.)In 11th grade, I added a job at Outback. Good at math, I quickly became lead hostess because I could calculate how to better seat bigger parties.
