Provide leadership, technical expertise, and assistance to child nutrition program sponsors and state agency staff in developing effective programs and to ensure all children have access to programs while maintaining nutrition integrity and financial accountability in accordance with federal and state regulations.Provide direction, supervision, and coordination of staff activities.Support the state director as a member of the management team in the daily operation, coordination, and administration of the Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs. Provide regulatory and administrative guidance, both internally and externally, for implementation of the federal child nutrition programs at the state level.Oversee the development of policies and procedures in relation to the administration of the Child Nutrition Programs including the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Afterschool Snack Program, Seamless Summer Option, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, Special Milk Program, Summer Food Service Program, and the At-Risk Child and Adult Care Food Program.Supervise the federal compliance review process including development of review procedures and analysis of School Nutrition Program data.Serve as the technical lead in directing, drafting, and clearing documents and materials for School Nutrition Program policy areas. These include memos, reports, superintendent newsletters, trainings, videos, resources, and educational materials.Provide comprehensive written reports including observations, findings and recommendations for program improvement and state regulations and guidance.Establish and maintain effective working relationships and liaison activities with stakeholders including senior agency officials, advocacy organizations, school divisions, community sponsors, other key partners, other state agencies, and USDA.
