WORK HISTORY
Grant Writing & Data-driven Performance Quality Improvement @Children & Families First
I work with leadership to develop and operationalize program concepts to meet pressing social challenges; identify funding opportunities; collaborate with leadership to write compelling cases to fund our programs; develop and directly oversee administration of data-driven performance and quality improvement systems; and gather narrative and qualitative information to report back to our funders. In the first half of 2019, I wrote and managed 12 proposals totalling $4.1 million, resulting in awards to CFF for 99% of dollars asked ($4.0 million), including two new funding streams:$2.8 million annually for a statewide youth counseling program, and for statewide school and community based group and family counseling.

ABOUT ANDREA MILLER
Children & Families First is a statewide human services nonprofit in Delaware that helps children facing adversity on their journey to adulthood. We use proven methods to help families raise their children to flourish. The work of collaborating with agency and program leadership to address real needs among vulnerable populations is satisfying, because it puts to use a longtime love for research around the impact of brain development on social, emotional, and physical development and health; writing compelling narratives; data-driven quality improvement; living my values; and using my skills to contribute to my community. A seasoned communications professional with experience as an award-winning reporter, editor, publisher, public and media relations professional, social media manager, and designer, I understand communication from numerous perspectives. I bring that expertise to bear at Children & Families First.
