ABOUT ANDREA FRAPPORTI

I’m a Senior R&D Scientist specialising in cell engineering and platform industrialisation. My focus is on making complex biological workflows more reliable and predictable. At bit.bio, I work across cell line and process engineering to develop human iPSC platforms. A large part of my role is identifying where workflows break down, removing sources of variability, and standardising how work is planned and executed so that cell engineering scales beyond bespoke, one-off experiments. My background is in gene editing, molecular biology, and epigenetics, spanning both industry and academia. Previously, I focussed on base-editing technology development at Revvity and carried out research on genome regulation at the University of Cambridge and in Paris. What I care about most is building the processes, digital tools, and cross-functional alignment (bridging R&D, bioinformatics, and commercial teams) that let TechBio and SynBio companies tackle ambitious biology in a more systematic way. I want to reduce guesswork, improve predictability, and make complex cell engineering easier to execute well.
