Who We Are: The MIT Sloan Physicians Group began as a way for physicians at MIT Sloan to meet, network, and collaborate. The group recognizes the importance of clinical training and practice which distinguishes physicians of all types from other healthcare leaders. The nature of our backgrounds and training gives physicians a unique and critical perspective on how to overcome challenges and promote positive change in healthcare delivery on a global level.My Role:I have been working with the Office of External Relations at the Sloan School of Management to organize those at MIT Sloan who have clinical training and experience and find meaningful ways to connect and interact. This will include having the support of the school, the ability to reach out to other physician alumni, and effective in-person and virtual meetings and forums.

Developing a discrete event simulator to evaluate the impact of the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to streamline the workflow of patients on the Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging departments of a tertiary pediatric hospital. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Go-Lab Collaboration (Jan-May 2021 and 2022).2. Testing and Implementing the Use of Ultrafast 3-Tesla MRI for Diagnostic of Pediatric Appendicitis (Clinical-Research Project, 20••••22): under departmental review for clinical implementation. Reduced the length of stay of patients in the Emergency Department of SickKids from an average of 12 hours to 7 hours given the high negative predictive value of the technique.3. Implementing the Efficiency of a Tertiary Hospital MRI Service: Developing strategies to maximize efficiency of the MRI system by minimizing delays throughout the pipeline of functions of the system. Avoiding Waste in Research:\"System Dynamics\" Strategies to improve the completion rate of research projects conducted by residents and fellows of radiology focusing on completing tasks prior to starting new tasks: reduced number of incomplete research studies by fellowship from 40% to 10%(20•••••25. Developing a program on Education in Qualitative-Quantitative Leadership: funded by an RSNA Education Development Grant, “Towards Enhancing the Value of Imaging by Communicating With Data: Developing the Next Generation of LQ2 (Qualitative-quantitative Leaders)”. Operations-Based: Completed Projects:1. Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Pathology Process Redesign: a)Transition to a direct diagnosis entry system. Analysis + Solution: cost assessment of necessary hardware upgrades. b)Improvement of pathology case workflow through continuous processing. Analysis + Solution: proof-of-concept simulation model to assess potential impact of restructured system.2. Employee Satisfaction, Corporate Culture & Financial Performance: Wellington Management Company. Hackathon “Mobility and Sensing for All” (April 28, 2019): Engineers, designers, scientists and inventors of the MIT and Harvard communities brainstormed about projects that address challenges related to physical disabilities.
