Walk Away Food Boxes provide ready-to-eat meals for individuals without access to cooking or refrigeration, ensuring dignified access to food for those experiencing housing instability. Food recovery and environmental stewardship are central to our mission. We partner with local grocery stores, food rescue organizations, schools, churches, and community groups to redirect surplus food back into the community. By rescuing and redistributing perishable and shelf-stable items, we reduce food waste while increasing access to fresh, culturally relevant options. Volunteer-led and community-rooted, Sunshine and Daisy prioritizes reliability, dignity, and responsiveness. Our mobile approach removes transportation barriers, strengthens neighborhood connections, and transforms surplus food into measurable impact for Memphis families.
