This fall I was asked to manage all student housing, both homestay and boarding. We have both international and domestic students in our student housing. The boarding program consists of three single-gender houses (two female and one male) in Orange, CA. There is a capacity for 31 students. ABOUT ANDREA CRIBBS
For the past twenty years I have worked with international high school students, managing both the homestay and boarding programs. The team I manage has placed over 1700 students in homestays with American families. We market our program, vet and train the hosts, place the students with families, and then work with students, hosts, teachers and school administrators to make sure that the student\'s time in the US is productive and successful. I am familiar with SEVIS, how to understand international transcripts, and am very familiar with the cultural differences both social and educational that students face when they first arrive in the United States. I have trained American families on the cultural differences and how to best help their students acclimate to the US. I have also organized activities to help the students learn more about their new country and environment.
