ABOUT ANDREA MANDELL
As a partner in Alston & Bird’s Federal & International Tax Group, I focus my practice on providing sophisticated tax advice across the securitization industry. My work includes traditional securitizable assets – such as RMBS, MSRs, CMBS, student loans, credit cards, and single family rental assets – as well as a wide range of esoteric asset classes, including litigation finance, life settlements, structured settlements, MSOs, and timeshare loans. I also counsel tax exempt organizations, REITs, hedge funds, and private equity firms on complex tax matters related to financing structures and investment platforms.I’m honored to be ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA in Capital Markets: Securitization: Tax – Nationwide and Global, and to have been twice recognized as one of Crain’s New York Business’s Notable Women in Law. I’ve served on the Structured Finance Association (SFA) board and previously co-chaired the SFA Tax Policy Committee for 8 years. For more than a decade, I’ve also dedicated my time as lead pro bono counsel to the Gary Sinise Foundation, where I am proud to serve on the board of directors in support of its mission.
