ABOUT ANDRE VISAGIE

I am a passionate supply chain professional with an extensive and broad background in creating profit driven supply chains with proven accomplishments in all main sectors of supply chain. I have been involved in implementing strategic and global sourcing strategies, standardization of our global supply chain process using the SCOR methodology, SAP Company structure, SAP blue printing & implementing and managing global statistical forecasting tool used in our S & OP process. I have also been able to successfully attracting and growing talent within my group through conducting talent forums and annual performance appraisal. Supply chain as a profession is an exciting and challenging field to be in. I started in this field as an expeditor in 1994 and have progressed in this field for the last 20 years, making use of all opportunities including taking up an international position to study and grow in my career. I have completed my Purchasing Diploma and Supply Chain Diploma, and Quality Management Systems such as Six Sigma, and together these tools have given me the ability to excel. I am passionate about the Supply chain field and I am lucky to be in a field of work that I truly enjoy. I have had the opportunity to build a very comprehensive supply chain experience; having started off in purchasing I continued to procurement before moving towards materials management and finally taking up my current role as logistics and customer service manager. I have had the opportunity to build my transformational leader skills from market and functional knowledge, with cross functional experience broadening my business knowledge and my current international and previous South African role giving me the cross cultural experience. These are skills I continuously strive to improve on.
