I serve on the Board of Directors of the International Code Council (ICC), helping guide the organization’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term mission to advance safe, sustainable, and resilient building practices worldwide.In this role, I contribute to policy development, organizational oversight, and strategic decision-making, with a focus on ensuring that ICC’s model codes and standards remain technically sound, responsive to emerging challenges, and practical for adoption and enforcement by jurisdictions of all sizes.My board service emphasizes the importance of implementation reality—bringing the perspective of code officials, regulators, and practitioners into board-level discussions. I work to strengthen alignment between code development, education, and enforcement, and to ensure ICC remains credible, transparent, and accessible to its diverse membership.I also help strategically direct ICC’s efforts to navigate evolving energy policy, housing affordability pressures, resilience goals, and regulatory complexity, recognizing the critical role building codes play at the intersection of public safety, sustainability, and community trust.
