ABOUT ANDRE CIPTA
I imagine a world where flourishing does not end with a diagnosis or even with life’s final chapter.As a dual board-certified physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) and Family Medicine, I have spent over a decade walking alongside my patients and their loved ones throughout the continuum of serious illness. I lead interprofessional teams in both hospital and home-based settings, providing longitudinal, whole-person-centered care.I have served in leadership roles across graduate and undergraduate medical education as director of one of the nation’s longest-standing HPM fellowship programs and as founding palliative medicine clerkship director.Recognized with national awards, I remain committed to advancing care that is both excellent and deeply human.I contribute to the fields of serious illness care, spirituality, and medical education through national and international speaking, peer-reviewed publications, research, innovative curriculum development, and technological innovation.Alongside extraordinary colleagues and mentors, I have designed and implemented innovative palliative care training programs, contributed to nationally recognized curricula, and examined the role of spirituality in healing and meaning.This work has evolved into exploring how high-fidelity AI-enhanced XR can deepen empathy, transform learning, and elevate care. When thoughtfully applied, I believe emerging technologies will amplify, not replace, our shared humanity.
