About Andre da Cunha Rego
I\'m an Electrical Engineering student at Purdue, currently maintaining a 4.0 GPA while working on research that combines machine learning with sustainable materials. Through our Vertically Integrated Project under Dr. Andres Tovar, I\'m helping optimize biodegradable thermoplastic starch formulations for 3D printing — a project that\'s pushed me to think across disciplines in ways I really value.I started programming seriously in high school and was fortunate to take on real client work early — building web platforms, automating financial data pipelines, and eventually leading development on a real-estate tokenization startup. Those experiences taught me how to ship under pressure and work with teams across different skill sets and time zones.Outside of coursework and research, I\'m most interested in the places where software meets the physical world: signal processing, embedded systems, cybersecurity, and algorithmic trading. I\'m trilingual in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and outside of engineering, you\'ll usually find me in the pool — I played competitive water polo through high school and at the club level in Brazil.Always open to connecting with people working in fintech, ML, sustainable engineering, or anything at the hardware-software boundary.
