ABOUT ANDI LIPSTEIN FRISTEDT
An executive leader at the forefront of public health efforts in Congress and government agencies for nearly 20 years, Andi Lipstein Fristedt currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Policy Officer at the Parkinson\'s Foundation. In this role she provides strategic leadership for the Foundation, ensures mission programs are addressing the needs of the community, and guides the Foundation\'s policy direction to advance impactful federal and state health policies.Andi previously served as Deputy Director and Chief Strategy Officer at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she provided strategic policy direction and oversaw global health, communications, budget strategy, and engagement with Congress and other Washington-based partners. Prior to her time at CDC, Andi was the Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Legislation, and International Affairs at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), leading key policy initiatives to strengthen nutrition and food safety, bolster medical product regulation, and address tobacco use.She also spent nearly a decade as staff to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), including as Deputy Health Policy Director, playing a key role in advancing landmark public health legislation. Earlier in her career, Andi served as Campaign Manager and Chief of Staff to an Oregon state legislator and completed a fellowship at the World Health Organization in Geneva.
