I serve as a magistrate in the adult/crime courts in Greater Manchester. As a bench of three we preside over a wide range of cases within the adult court system, ensuring fair and impartial administration of justice. This voluntary judicial role requires: • Structured Decision-Making: Collaborating with fellow magistrates to evaluate evidence, apply legal principles, and reach well-reasoned judgments. • Analytical Skills: Interpreting legislation and understanding legal and procedural frameworks. • Communication and Leadership: Effectively communicating decisions and maintaining authority within the courtroom. • Ethics and Integrity: Upholding the highest standards of impartiality and confidentiality.This position has allowed me to develop an understanding of legal processes, hone my ability to make sound decisions under pressure and contribute meaningfully to my community.
