Ande is the President of Deer Brook Consulting, a firm specializing in information security and edtech technology consulting. Under his leadership, Deer Brook has become known for tailoring process and technology solutions to fit client needs, offering services such as penetration testing, security engineering, vCIO or vCISO, and security policy and program management. Deer Brook’s education technology practice blends its deep bench of program and project management skills with experienced higher education professionals to provide leverage technology and business process opportunities.Ande\'s leadership is grounded in his extensive experience, notably as Director of Information Security for the U.S. division of a top-25 multinational retailer. His government experience includes serving as Chief Information Officer for the State of Maine, where he led a team of 700 IT professionals and spearheaded digital transformation efforts. As Chief Technology Officer for the State of Connecticut, he supervised 140 IT staff, leading the state\'s IT consolidation and cloud migration initiatives. Ande has also served as COO of an IT consultancy and CISO for a regional energy retailer. Most recently, he has served as the contract CIO for the Maine Community College System where he successfully brought the seven colleges and system office IT teams together in a shared services while simultaneously implementing a range of Anthology projects.A former U.S. Navy Submarine Officer, Ande led 800 reserve sailors, worked with FEMA during Hurricane Sandy, and served internationally with the State Department and USAID. With a JD from the University of Maine School of Law, a Master\'s in Public Affairs from UConn, and a BS in Nuclear Engineering from RPI, Ande brings legal, technical, and leadership expertise to every engagement.Ande lives with his wife and five children in southern Maine where enjoys playing golf and hopes to get back to marathoning form - someday.
