As an HR Co-Op at Schaeffler, I work within the University Relations sector, where my focus is on building strong connections between the company and emerging talent from universities. In this role, I support a wide range of projects and initiatives designed to attract, engage, and develop the next generation of professionals.A large part of my work involves career fair and campus engagement preparation—from coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and ensuring our team is fully equipped to represent Schaeffler, to directly engaging with students during events. I also assist in talent acquisition efforts by helping manage candidate pipelines, reviewing resumes, and supporting the recruiting team in identifying strong potential hires.Beyond recruitment, I contribute to employer branding initiatives, helping showcase Schaeffler’s culture and opportunities to students in meaningful and engaging ways. I collaborate with HR professionals and university partners to strengthen relationships, ensuring that students and faculty view Schaeffler as a top choice for internships, co-ops, and full-time roles.Through this experience, I’m developing valuable skills in HR operations, event planning, communication, and organizational development, while gaining a deeper understanding of how corporate HR teams strategically engage with talent. This role has not only given me insight into the technical side of university recruiting but also allowed me to practice leadership, adaptability, and relationship management in real-world settings.Ultimately, my co-op allows me to bridge my academic studies in Organizational Communication and Sociology with hands-on HR practice, preparing me to contribute to the future of talent development and workforce strategy.
