ABOUT ANASTASIA V.
Hello! I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at UCLA pursuing a double-major in Public Affairs and Geography with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society. My research, studies, and work exist at the intersection between sustainable urban development, environmental justice, and public health/wellbeing. I feel passionately about finding infrastructural solutions to issues of inequity, particularly those that stem from the long histories of racial, economic, and ecological violence in urban centers. In my time at UCLA, I have had the privilege to grow through various incredible experiences. My work at the Luskin School of Public Affairs Urban Planning Department, a GIS internship in Bali, multiple leadership roles in a tight-knit sustainability organization, and ongoing research under the mentorship of Urban Planning faculty have each helped me to build a robust skillset that I will carry with me into my career post-grad. In addition to urban planning, I am passionate about housing policy, incarceration and drug policy, data management, media design, journalism, and various art mediums. I am a creative thinker and try to apply this mindset to all areas of my life and work.
