ABOUT ANASTASIA KAREL

Anastasia Karel is the Interim Director of Libraries & Archives at Newfields, home to the Indianapolis Museum of Art and its surrounding campus. Her responsibilities include reactivating the library space, handling research requests and supervising a full-time librarian. Karel graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a BA in American Studies, and from Drexel University with a Master’s in Library Science. Over the last two decades she worked as an archivist for Princeton University, the New York Public Library, the University of California, Berkeley, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Her first concert was Rod Stewart in 1993 and since then she’s been to more than 500 rock concerts, with Bob Dylan being her favorite artist.She is also the woman behind Rock & Routes, a brand she developed to tell stories about rock & roll and road trips.
