About Anapaula Guajardo

I\'m Anapaula Guajardo (she/her/ella), a graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with bachelors in Radio-Television-Film and Theatre and minor in Arts Administration and Latino Media Arts and Studies. I’m from Monterrey, Mexico and have lived most of my life in South Texas. The way art and entertainment are used to connect people across cultures and borders has always fascinated me. My studies began with a passion for the art of entertainment and quickly turned into a call to action. After delving deep into the history of Latina/o/x and BIPOC representation in the media, I am committed to amplifying underrepresented voices through all my artistic and academic endeavors. As a writer, I focus on subverting stereotypes through bilingual cadence, humor, and a lot of heart! My play \"Mucho Poquito\", premiered at the Cohen New Works Festival this past April 2021 - it\'s a bilingual radio dramedy that offers a fresh perspective on the immigrant experience. My play paired with my Undergraduate Thesis:\"Ni Aqui, Ni Allá: An analytical observation on Latino/Hispanic Otherness in Media\" was awarded the Undergraduate Thesis Award by the Latino Media Art and Studies department at the Univeristy of Texas at Austin.
