ABOUT ANANYA HEGDE
A grad student of MSc in Clinical Psychology. My bachelor\'s allowed me to dwell deeper into my passions such as Psychology, Journalism and English Major. My academic journey has allowed me to hold leadership and management roles in various academic and co-curricular projects, whilst also volunteering for non profit organisations. I have been the class representative for a year in Christ Deemed to Be University, Bangalore. My undergrad college has allowed me to partake in the following roles- The student coordinator of a national level film seminar - A member of the student\'s council - A core member of the college writers\' blog - The core member and head of events I am a strongly vocal advocate of mental health in the areas of- Mental Health Policy - Child and women empowerment - Trauma - Education - Community Mental Health - Human Rights I strive to adopt a multicultural, community based socio-economical lens in my approach towards the field. Apart from this, I strongly identify with causes towards animal welfare and hope to engage in humanitarian services through my career; whilst also quenching my desire for creative endeavours such as film making and writing. I particularly enjoy reading into philosophy, literature, politics and mental health policy. Physical, outdoor activities like travelling, trekking and the likes are my surefire sources for a surge of energy and clarity. I deeply appreciate art and culture and would never miss the opportunities to explore what makes citizens of various demographic backgrounds who they are.
