About Ananth Narayan M G

With over 26 years of industry experience in Linux kernel development and architecture, I am a Fellow at AMD, leading a team of skilled engineers who contribute to the upstream Linux kernel in various domains, such as memory management, scheduler, scalability, power management, perf kernel infrastructure and tooling, and virtualization. Working closely with top hardware architects on the core, cache, fabric, performance, debug and virtualization, our mission is to make Linux work optimally on AMD\'s CPU and platform architectures, delivering high performance, reliability, and scalability.Before joining AMD, I was a technical lead and architect at IBM\'s Linux Technology Center, where I was responsible for all aspects of RAS engineering for Linux on the IBM Power platform. I collaborated with hardware design and firmware teams for multiple POWER processor generations, and developed key RAS features, such as trace, debug, dump, inventory, livepatching, service definition, hardware and memory error handling and recovery. I also contributed to OPAL firmware, the kprobes framework, and BPF\'s capabilities. I have a strong track record of mentoring and building high-performing teams, as well as a passionate innovator with multiple patents, publications, and presentations in the field of Linux kernel and RAS. I am a seasoned professional who can balance technical and business requirements, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.
