About Anand Rao

Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Anand Rao. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work and live in two countries, on either side of the world - India and the US. Starting as an advertising copywriter scripting TV and print commercials in the late 90s, I have been a journalist, public relations manager, marketing and corporate communications executive, stage and television actor, fiction writer, business owner, adjunct professor, and management consultant. Along the way, I invested a significant amount of time in school and earned two Masters\' degrees and a clutch of advanced diplomas in communications-related disciplines. I have enjoyed an equal measure of spectacular successes and failures in each of those roles.Essentially, I draw from my diverse experiences, education and passion to solve complex problems involving communications, content, culture, and knowledge within organizations, groups and individuals too. I am a unique combination of a creative by roots, a strategist by training and a system thinker by nature. A combination I generously apply when advising leaders of organizations, be it start-up firms or non-profits or Ivy-league universities or Fortune 100 corporations.I also write and edit stories, scripts, books, and plays for stage and screen. Usually for a fee but often for indulgence too.I am always looking for an exciting new challenge, and I welcome you to connect with me.
