I lead the Customer Platform at Uber. The platform does end-to-end customer lifecycle management. We model, manage, and serve core entities like riders, drivers, eaters, bikers, restaurants, businesses, employees, etc. All customer-centric core experiences from signup, login, taking trips, going online, promotions, payments, customer support, and even customer deletion, rely on the Customer Platform to serve the core customer data. We manage some of the highest scale (1M+ QPS) servers at Uber at eyeball scale, that need to be secure, compliant, and auditable, with complex authorization/access controls that meet GDPR requirements.
