About Anand Mudgerikar

I am a full stack engineer and research scientist specializing in Information Security, Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Networks. Currently, I am working on frontier applied research initiatives at the inter-section of Cyber-Security and AI at Microsoft Security and AI (MSEC-AI) Research. Specifically, I am leading the Cyber-Security Agentic AI Benchmarking and RLVR efforts across MSEC. Previously, I co-invented and contributed to building the L1 meta-layer knowledge-graph base and semantic search substrate for Azure Sentinel, and was responsible for developing and maintaining the unsupervised machine learning and anomaly detection suite for the same platform.I joined Microsoft following completion of my PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University, where my research focused on applying machine learning to the security and safety of IoT device systems and computer networks. My work specifically addressed constraining reinforcement learning frameworks with intrusion detection and prevention systems to promote system safety and security. Earlier in my career, I conducted research on malware analysis and ransomware detection using machine learning. During my master\'s program at Purdue\'s CERIAS, I developed a hardware-accelerated cryptographic library in CUDA to enable fast authentication in embedded devices.
