About Anand Kumar
I am a mining professional with extensive experience spanning operations, land management, and strategic acquisitions across India’s mining and raw material sectors. Over the course of my career, I have worked on the end-to-end lifecycle of mining projects—from drilling & blasting, excavation, and production planning to land acquisition, rehabilitation & resettlement (R&R), forest clearances, and stakeholder management.My journey includes managing large-scale mining operations in limestone, iron ore, and coal, leading crushing & screening plants, and ensuring statutory compliance with DGMS, IBM, MoEFCC, and other regulatory bodies. As I grew into senior leadership, I transitioned into land, lease, Forest and R&R management, where I have been responsible for pan-India land acquisition, lease renewals, and government liaisoning at the highest levels, including coordination with the PMO and central ministries.Currently, as part of Tata Steel’s leadership team, I handle land, forest and R&R operations across India and serve as a core team member for strategic mine and plant acquisitions, balancing business growth with regulatory compliance, sustainability, and community trust.
