ABOUT ANAMIKA S.
I am a licensed paralegal and a recent graduate with a paralegal degree. I have completed courses in Small Claims Court Practice, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Evidence, Tort and Contract Law, and the Litigation process among other core legal courses. I have maintained honours from semester 1 to semester 8 and received the Peter Libman Excellence in Small Claims Court Studies Award, Paralegal Degree Mooting Team Leadership Award, and Paralegal Degree Community Leadership Award. I was also a Peer Tutor and Academic Mentor in the Paralegal Program. This activity taught me how to be accountable, communicate efficiently, and work collaboratively with others. I previously graduated from the Law Clerk Diploma program with an Honours standing. In the Law Clerk diploma, I learnt extensively about Legal Computer Applications, organizing and maintaining files, legal research, and litigation. I worked at a personal injury law firm and an employment law firm under the supervision of lawyers, and I worked on files as a law clerk. My passion for law and legal matters grew from my education and work experience. I have further explored the challenges faced specifically by self-represented litigants due the challenges posed by AI in my article published in the Paralegal Journal of Access to Justice. I want to continue exploring the legal profession and aspire to be a lawyer.
