I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona (December 2023) and obtained my BA in sociology with an emphasis in social work. My sociological interests include medical social work, mental health, gender, and social inequality. I am currently a behavior technician providing quality 1:1 ABA treatment to neurodivergent kids in the clinic setting. Works with young individuals (ages 2-6) with autism spectrum disorders or other special needs providing 1:1 behavior treatment in the clinic setting-Taught individuals with ASD to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce any inappropriate behaviors-Utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), such as reinforcement and prompting, to teach the clients adaptive behaviors in developmental areas, such as language, socialization, play, self-help, and motor skills-Implement behavior modification techniques, such as differential reinforcement of alternative behaviors (DRA), in order to reduce problem behaviors that the clients exhibit-Collect detailed data regarding every skill and behavior targeted to demonstrate each client’s progress toward reaching their goals-Analyze data by using our proprietary electronic data collection software for real time decision-making-Update client communication logs weekly to provide team members with relevant information regarding BIP targets, client accomplishments, and areas of need-Collaborate with BCBAs, the client’s family, and other technicians at clinical team meetings to report client progress and get specific feedback from the supervisor-Maintain consistent attendance and commitment to provide client service with limited cancellations-Applied principles of trauma informed care (TIC) to ABA to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for young clients
