Major functions include: • Acts as Office of the Commissioner and Agency resource for quantitative research and analysis on emerging issues, including developing policy options and understanding the expected impact of those options on public health outcomes• Advances and informs work on priority public health and scientific initiatives and issues at the request of the FDA Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Planning, Legislation and Analysis• Develops and executes research to improve the agency’s ability to link agency activities and outputs to public health outcomes, and serves as an agency resource for methodology to link FDA activities to public health outcomesOngoing projects: buprenorphine use among women of reproductive age, naloxone access amidst the current opioid epidemic, adverse events related to anticoagulant medications
