About Anahit Gulian

I was born in Armenia and moved to America with my family when I was 6. I\'ve always loved to write and draw and create fantasy worlds. After focusing on fine art and creative writing in college, I realized that art and technology are not mutually exclusive, and that coding was learnable and rather magical. After a whirlwind education in fullstack engineering at Grace Hopper, I landed an apprenticeship at Upstatement, a digital design studio whose portfolio caught my eye for its interesting projects and elegant aesthetic. I had to quickly acclimate to the large codebase of the project I was building, and learn how to develop for iOS in the front-end and Rails in the back-end. Upstatement plunged me into contributing directly to the codebase, owning and completing Jira tickets, and learning invaluable (and sometimes terrifying) lessons in git workflow. I also, despite the constraints of remote work, got to know a lot of very cool, very talented people.    Kingdom Death is a boardgame design company whose software connects users to game assets and to the Kingdom Death webstore via Shopify.
