Waste management professional with over 10 years of international experience in the waste management sector, spanning mining, waste service providers, and consulting. I specialize in designing innovative waste optimization strategies, conducting in-depth audits, and generating clear, data-driven reports for executives and stakeholders. My work aligns with circular economy principles and sustainability goals, contributing to measurable cost savings and improved environmental performance.Most recently, I worked as a Senior Waste Consultant at Buro Happold where I led complex projects across the UK and the Middle East. I provided strategic design and operational guidance to clients and architects which included quantifying and characterizing waste generation, defining spatial requirements, and advising on logistics such as collection routes, service lifts, and back-of-house layouts. My project portfolio included commercial, residential, mixed-use, cultural, and sports developments.Earlier in my career, I worked at Vale in Brazil, one of the world’s largest mining companies. There, I led large-scale waste diversion initiatives, successfully repurposing industrial materials such as conveyor belts and refractory bricks. These projects generated millions in cost avoidance and revenue while significantly reducing reliance on landfills. In Canada, I collaborated with haulers and clients in the retail and commercial sectors to improve operational performance, cut waste-related costs, and ensure regulatory compliance through audits and customized waste management plans.I bring a strong understanding of both the operational and design stages of waste management, allowing me to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation.
