ABOUT ANA MATA
I am currently a second year student at the University of Florida studying Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (APK) on the Pre-Med track in the College of Health and Human Performance (HHP). My goal and hope for the future is to attend medical school. Throughout my time at UF, I have learned the value of not only building a community, but also pursuing involvements that bring me joy. One of my greatest accomplishments recently has been the development of my professional and communicative skills, which have been vital in opening up opportunities for me. I take great pride in all of my involvements, and they have each given me a different perspective of the world, which is so important for an influential career in healthcare. Throughout my first year at UF, I engaged in diverse and unique extracurricular activities to help develop a wide range of skills. My current involvements include serving as a Research Assistant for Dr. Parker in the College of Nursing, a Navigator clinical volunteer at the Norman Fixel Brain Institute, a Student Assistant for the NSFP office at UF, Grace Marketplace volunteer, and the President of the Community Health Service Corps (CHSC), a student-led organization at UF. My hobbies include crocheting and reading. I have been able to hone my skills in crafting and crocheting through my involvement in CHSC, something I am very grateful for.
