About Ana Izabel O.

Risk taker, curious, adapter, and connector…At first, my dream was to become a Chemistry Professor, do research, develop other students, and absolutely make great impact in academia. However, life had other ideas for me, I decided to take a risk, and in the middle of my Organometallics PhD program in Brazil, I moved to the US. And so, my career journey at Roche began! From a Lab Scientist, to Process Validation analyst, to Quality Systems Analyst, and then embarking on many supervisory roles I went! I did not realize then, but what really makes me enjoy what I do consists of two-fold:1. Curiosity to learn something new2. Bring what I already know to a new area – isn’t it so much better to collaborate with others when you already know the people, their concerns, and what makes them effective? I always wanted to be that person.And then, being the curious being that I am, I pursued a position in the Finance area. Why? Well, it was very different, and I was going to interact with Roche Brazil! Going to an area that I knew nothing about (except maybe speaking Portuguese) was scary, but exciting. After 4 years, with so many successes and process improvements, I left empowered. There is nothing to be worried about, I can learn and adapt, I can connect, and I can make an impact.In my current role, I work diligently in finding opportunities for improvement. I love helping others find alternatives to be more efficient, but most importantly, I love providing my experiences and knowledge to any given scenario.I am also a mother, an adventure traveler, a hiker, and a dog lover.
