Amy’s career path to the confectionery industry is as non-traditional as the handcrafted marshmallow flavors coming out of 48 Blocks Fine Candy. After a 20+ career as a Federal government consultant managing business process improvement programs, Amy founded MarshmallowMBA in 2016. In 2024, MarshmallowMBA became part of 48 Blocks Fine Candy organization.Based in Fairfax County, VA, 48 Blocks Fine Candy is a BiPOC woman-owned candy crafting a variety of for retail and wholesale customers across the US. 48 Blocks Fine Candy supplies marshmallows to candymakers and resellers. Marshmallows are available in both slabs and food service packaging as well as retail point of sale packages. The ecommerce shop offers a selection of unique sweets leveraging the most popular MarshmallowMBA products as well as new items including fruit pates. In July 2025, the 48 Blocks Candy Speakeasy launches its first 4th Friday pop-up at our new location in Falls Church, VA.Amy continually seeks to push the boundaries of candy beyond its identity as a snack food. In July 2021, the honey-based Bee Kind lifestyle marshmallow collection earned MarshmallowMBA the Best Innovation Award from Retail Confectioners International. This collection benefits apiary non-profits in the mid-Atlantic.Amy attended Harrisburg Area Community College, Penn State University, the Italian International Institute (Florence, Italy) and the George Washington University (Washington, DC) ultimately earning her MBA in Strategy and Operations. She is actively committed to raising the profile of non-chocolatiers in the confectionery industry and promoting the value of the confectionery industry in the manufacturing sector. She splits her residence between Falls Church, VA and Atlantic City, NJ.
