ABOUT AMY STEPHENSON
Most leadership challenges don’t start as people problems. They show up as slower decision-making, inconsistent accountability, leadership overload, and good people working harder without seeing better results. After nearly two decades working in and around leadership, culture and organisational change, I’ve seen this pattern repeat again and again: organisations grow beyond the systems, behaviours and ways of working they were originally designed for, and the strain shows up in people. As the founder of Human, I partner with CEOs and leadership teams at this point of growth. My work sits at the intersection of leadership, culture and systems; helping leaders see where effort is compensating for design gaps, and what needs to be re-architected for the next phase.I spend most of my time with founders and leadership teams who care deeply about their people, but know that intent alone doesn’t scale. Structure does.Through Human I focus on:how leadership behaviour shapes organisational outcomeswhy culture problems are usually design problemswhere systems either amplify people or quietly drain themwhat organisations need to let go of as they growThis work is anchored to our clear leaders creating better jobs.Because growth should never rely on people compensating for broken systems and too often, that’s exactly what happens when organisations outgrow their original design.WHY DO I DO WHAT I DO?Having spent my post study years travelling solo around the world I discovered a passion for people and culture. I travelled solo to the USA, then New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand before moving to Japan for 12 months to teach English in a city just outside Tokyo. Why is this relevant? It\'s where I began my study of people and cultures. When you are travelling alone - especially as a solo female you learn a lot about people. Your instincts sharpen, you observe, you learn and you adapt. It was these experiences that led me to ultimately begin a career in recruitment before developing my career through study and starting and building Human.**To start a conversation please get in touch on 01•••••••12 or email a•••@recruithuman.co.uk
