I specialize in communications about housing programs, affordable housing, and housing solutions. My background is in writing, editing, content marketing, and journalism. I help audiences understand complex issues and help technical people communicate. My day is successful when I can efficiently deliver content to clients and readers that is effective, helpful, and easy to understand. In October 2024, I joined Yardi as a marketing writer on the Senior Living team. I write about technology and industry trends and love sharing stories of the people behind thriving communities.My passion project is writing columns in local media about affordable housing solutions, inspired by the long recovery phase after devastating Colorado floods in 2013. After moving to California in 2020, I began writing about housing issues in Santa Barbara County for Edhat and working directly with disaster recovery clients as a volunteer caseworker with the Red Cross Central California Region. In 2024, I worked as a Housing Locator for New Beginnings, developing relationships with landlords and property managers to secure permanent housing opportunities for individuals and families living in their vehicles.My career began with journalism. I was a reporter and copyeditor, and I wrote news and features for the Boulder Daily Camera, the Colorado Daily, Boulder Weekly, Bluegrass Now, No Depression, and Bluegrass Unlimited.
