Red Duchess, a new biography of the Duchess of Atholl MP, was published in August 2025. Pianist turned politician, anti-suffrage speaker elected Scotland\'s first woman MP and appointed the first Conservative woman minister, friend of Baldwin and Churchill, champion of refugees, scourge of dictators and the only opponent of appeasement brave enough to put their position to the electorate, Duchess Kitty deserves to be better remembered. I hope my book will do that. I spoke at the Scottish Parliament and on Times Radio to mark the centenary of her election in December 2023, and on BBC Woman\'s Hour to mark the publication of my book. Red Duchess has been covered by the Scottish Daily Mail, Sunday Herald and Tatler.
