ABOUT AMY FLORES

Amy is a first-gen graduate from Hofstra University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree and furthered her coursework in the ABA Accredited Paralegal Studies Program at Hofstra University where she received a certificate of completion with Honors. She is an experienced professional with over 15 years of successful leadership in business, management, finance, and economic development. Amy currently serves as Vice President, Community Manager at JPMorgan Chase, where she excels in relationship management and business development. In this capacity, Amy leads initiatives focused on community and business development while advancing economic inclusion in partnership with businesses, non-profits, and other key stakeholders.In September 2019, Amy was appointed by former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran as the Executive Director of the Nassau County Office of Hispanic Affairs. In this government leadership role, Amy collaborated closely with the County Executive’s office and various county agencies to analyze, and implement policies ensuring equal opportunities, engagement, and access to government resources for all.Before her tenure in local government, Amy served as Vice President and Senior Affordable Lending Manager at People’s United Bank (now part of M&T Bank), where she managed the Affordable Lending Division across the bank’s entire footprint. People’s United Bank was one of the largest full-service banks in New England, with assets exceeding $60 billion at the time.Amy is a highly respected community leader, most recently appointed by NYS Governor Kathy Hochul to serve on the newly restructured Board of Directors for the Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC), which oversees the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), Nassau County’s only public hospital. Amy also serves as President on the boards of Círculo de La Hispanidad and CARECEN. She is a member of Hofstra’s Black/Hispanic Alumni Association, and Nassau County District Attorney’s Office Hispanic/Latino Advisory Council.In 2022, she became a founding member of the Long Island Chapter of 100 Hispanic Women, where she currently serves as a board member.Amy has an extensive history of service, including serving as the first Latina Board Member of the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA).Her leadership and impact have been recognized by NY\'s City & State Long Island Power 100 lists, which highlight the most influential figures on Long Island, and recognized by Long Island Business News as one of the Most Powerful Women on Long Island.
