ABOUT AMY GRAY
Dr. Gray is a Principal and a Director within the Fire and Explosion Technical Group at ESi. She conducts fire, explosion, industrial, and product liability failure analyses. These have included large-scale petrochemical plant incidents, natural gas explosions, aviation accidents, and fire and explosion-related product failure analyses. In addition to conducting on-site investigations, she also specializes in computer modeling of fluid, combustion, explosion dynamics, and chemical processes. Dr. Gray also has expertise in the area of Dust and Process Hazard Analysis.Dr. Gray obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Prior to joining ESI, she gained experience in the design and implementation of aircraft cooling systems. Additionally, she has conducted research relating to the gas transport and internal-reforming chemistry of alternative fuels within various solid oxide fuel cell anode support materials. She has designed, built, and optimized a unique experimental reactor, a protocol utilizing both mass spectrometry (MS) and gas chromatography (GC), and a computational model for the analysis of fuel cell anodes.
