from the dirt and raised in the woods, in her work of birds, beasts, bugs and man; she depicts a melancholic, ephemeral glimpses in to another world. Exploring our relationship with non-humans in our ever disappearing world, Dover evokes uneasy feelings and raises questions about our relationship with non-humans weaving strange tales and unusual encounters. Dover draws from animals she meets, from mountains to jungles; in all their meticulous detail. Every feather, hair, scale and whisker; breaking down barriers between the human and nature. She invites the viewer to enter a world which challenges traditional perceptions, and nature becomes the central focus.Amy Dover is a fine artist, illustrator and educator based in the United Kingdom. She is currently a PhD candidate at Newcastle University, as well as a lecturer and researcher at Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh University. She has exhibited and taught internationally as well as producing commercial illustration for clients from New York to Vienna.
