ABOUT AMY ANCHI LI CHEN
Born in NYC and raised in Beijing, Amy Anchi Li Chen is a bilingual writer/filmmaker and Creative Executive at Janet Yang Productions, where she develops Asian-forward, globally commercial film and TV through IP scouting, script development, and packaging across U.S.–Asia. An Academy Gold Rising alum, she graduated from USC School of Cinematic Arts with a 4.0 GPA and received the Jon M. Chu Scholarship and USC Provost’s Award. Amy previously worked in Development at Blumhouse, Hello Sunshine, and Circle of Confusion, evaluating literary material and supporting talent packaging. Her writing centers on cross-cultural, female-driven narratives that blend family drama with psychological thriller in English and Chinese. Committed to access and education, she created Koreatown Storytelling Program’s first screenwriting curriculum (2022) and, as Screenwriters’ Chair at DKA Cinema Society, led workshops and pitch sessions. She is also a dancer, actor, and vocalist.
