Currently leading the Proposals team at Helix RS, with full responsibility for team management, training, and development. I manage and mentor a graduate-level team who are new to both the role and the industry, acting as their primary trainer, line manager, and point of escalation. My goal in this position is to reduce long term high turnover and have a solid team of proposals engineers who are able to work to a high standard in a positive work environment where they can have excellent careers. Alongside my leadership responsibilities, I retain a strong technical focus, leading and delivering high-priority, complex, and high-value tenders. I am responsible for ensuring proposals meet demanding technical, commercial, and client requirements, while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality across all submissions. I oversee all team administrative outputs and conduct detailed technical and commercial reviews, providing structured feedback and approvals.I support the Tendering Manager in delivering departmental objectives and regularly assume full responsibility for the function in their absence including completion of corporate reporting. My role has expanded to include increasing involvement in contracts, contributing to contract reviews, risk identification, and commercial clarifications to support successful project award and handover.

ABOUT AMY WHITAKER
I am motivated to continue developing in my career commercially and technically while building strong, collaborative relationships across the energy sector.As part of my personal development and commitment to my career, I recently completed additional courses ‘Commercial Contracting’ and ‘Renewable Energy Management’ at RGU and am currently undertaking ‘Strategic Risk Management’, Strategic Leadership’ and ‘Managing Change’. I hope with these courses I’ll be able to apply learnings to real life as my career develops. Currently working as a Senior Proposals Engineer managing the Tender Team, within the subsea industry managing all high value, lump sum and complex Tenders throughout the full tender cycle from receipt of ITT to Project Handover. Tenders range from Trenching, Full Route Prep (including UXO, Boulder Clearance, Mattress Installation & PLGR) and WROV / ROVSV. I manage and lead tender approvals up to Director & VP level of multi-million $ projects with confidence whilst demonstrating excellent understanding in Scopes, Client requirements, competitors and the market.
