About Amy Werner

My career and extensive volunteer experience have been driven by a singular focus: touching people’s lives. Shaped by my lived experience in the mental health arena, I have turned advocacy into action, applying my skills as a speaker, educator, and coach in both professional and volunteer settings. I’m skilled at creating positive momentum and adding new ways of thinking in organizations - both private companies and nonprofits - that need a boost. Training and education are central to my career. From my earliest days of teaching, I use teaching and mentoring as I build, develop and manage teams of up to 15 team members. As I lead teams, I steer them toward customer focus and advocacy and support their efforts to enhance their own skills. The results include: excellence in customer service, expansion of mission’s reach, increase in revenue/fund development, personal and professional growth of colleagues as well as develop collaborative strength amongst team members. I am an ambitious leader that has the ability to create change and innovation inside of existing organizations, drawing on my experiences from growing a non profit educational curriculum organization, building my own coaching practice and being part of the start up efforts for a behavioral health hospital I’m drawn to roles that allow me to think outside-of-the-box and to draw people into new ways of collaborating. Business development is both art and science to me. While I thrive on connecting with people through a purpose, I also am driven to achieve and exceed business expectations: converting prospects to customers and building cohesive teams. People who have worked with me count me as a trusted advisor, educational expert, and advocate. I use the skills gained through this career of education, leadership, and entrepreneurship to focus on enriching the businesses and organizations where I work and volunteer.
