Provide magnet certified nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team to patients on a neurology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics unit, as well as patients of varying cancer primary diagnoses•Proficient in skilled nursing tasks such as mediport access, straight catheterization, foley insertion, sterile dressing changes, wound care, performing electrocardiogram tests, administering blood products, tracheostomy care, managing drains (Reliavac, Jackson-Pratt, chest tubes, PleurX etc.) as well as monitoring patients on telemetry and electroencephalogram monitoring•Acute care experience in the Neurologic Acute Care Unit (NACU), handling external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, ventriculoperitoneal shunts, ventilated patients, drips, arterial lines, seizure/antiepileptic management and administration of hypertonic saline and mannitol•Experience with role as charge nurse responsible for providing support to nursing staff, establishing safe staffing assignments, communicating with Nursing Supervisor and ensuring optimal patient safety while continually monitoring status of floor
