As Lead Project Manager, I was accountable for overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects within my designated Solution Area, ensuring successful delivery aligned with scope, budget, timelines, and quality standards. My role involved a blend of strategic oversight, operational governance, and team leadership. Key responsibilities included- Led the end-to-end management of project portfolios, including Book-to-Bill tracking and follow-on Managed Service contracts- Actively participated and presented in weekly Managed Service and Professional Services board meetings, providing critical updates and managing escalations- Ensured robust project governance frameworks were in place and adhered to across all engagements- Monitored and reported on project manager utilisation, ensuring optimal resource allocation- Reviewed and approved Change Control Notices (CCNs) and project end-date forecasts in collaboration with Account Managers and the PMO- Supported strategic planning through accurate headcount and budget forecasting, maintaining up-to-date data across systems- Held regular review meetings with Solution Area Leads and attended external executive board calls to represent project delivery- Conducted monthly 1:1s with Project Managers (PMs) and Senior Project Managers (SPMs), supporting their career development and performance- Facilitated weekly PM briefings to manage project progress, internal administration, and escalations- Led recruitment efforts for PMs and SPMs within my vertical, ensuring team capability aligned with delivery needs- Provided management support for cross-vertical programmes and ensured alignment with other Lead Project Managers.
