ABOUT AMY VERCELL
An oncology nurse with over 20 years of experience, Amy has been Chief Clinical Information Officer at The Christie since 2022. She joined the Trust as an Acute Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner in 2017, working on a nurse-led acute admissions unit reviewing patients who present with complications caused by their cancer or their non-surgical cancer treatment, or other acute medical conditions, and define the most clinically appropriate care pathway. In 2019, Amy was awarded a 12-month research scholarship in the Christie Patient Centred Research team, before securing a permanent position. In 2020, Amy was awarded a National Institute of Healthcare Research Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, which focussed on patient centred digitally enabled care. Amy has numerous first author publications, as well as several co-author publications, and a textbook chapter. Amy was awarded a Florence Nightingale Foundation Digital Leadership Scholarship in 2022. Amy welcomed the birth of her twins, Ruby and Luca, in April 2023, before returning to work in January 2024. Amy is a CNIO Advisory Panel member 20••••27, and is in cohort 8 of the Digital Health Leadership Programme, starting in September, 2025.
