ABOUT AMY TUNG

For Amy, success is about her contributions and the value she can create for people. She comes from an entrepreneurial background and desires opportunities to reinvent and recreate a future bursting with other socially purposeful businesses. To accomplish this, she focuses on creating expansion for others, obsessing over innovative solutions, building outstanding teams, and project management. But it wasn’t always this way for Amy… Because of her lived experiences, Amy knows what it’s like to fall in the cracks and how difficult it is to climb back up, especially when you don’t feel love and support surrounding you. She felt lost in this endless cycle of emotional and physical depletion, with no purpose and barriers everywhere she looked. But this isn’t a sad story; it’s a story about empowerment and celebration. Since then, Amy translated her experiences to inspire others through modelling hopefulness, restoring lives, and leading with boldness. With those words top of mind, she established the I AM LOVE PROJECT, a socially conscious business that began in 2018 - leaning on Amy’s calling of reaching out and supporting others, including smaller local charities that lack funding. And today, she transforms women into entrepreneurs by teaching the craft of making meaningful jewelry. To accomplish this, 40% of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are handmade by those in Manitoba’s vulnerable communities, and 60% are locally designed and imported for assembly. After months and months of planning community initiatives, building an e-commerce website and systems, developing communication strategies/budgets/policies, marketing campaigns, expanding sales channels, and leading operations, Amy was nationally recognized as 2022 Canadian “Doing Good” business through Canada’s Post Tales of Triumph, named a Winnipeg Blue Bombers Community Hero, the recipient of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Volunteer 2021, the recipient of the 2020 Manitoba Honour 150 Medal, and selected as a 2018 CBC Manitoba Future 40, made a finalist of Future Leaders of Manitoba 2019, featured in Global Hero magazine and have raised over for our community in the 18 months since launching the business after starting with nothing. And when she is not building a better quality of life for others, Amy can be found in a HIIT class or exploring something new … it’s probably on her bucket list!
