About Amy Summa Feldman
My purpose is to help people adapt to transformative change. This wasn\'t my intended career (teaching was - talk about a change!), but SAP OCM & Learning has been my singular focus for 26 years and I love what I do. Change is always hard, but well-designed change programs minimize risk and flatten the adoption curve. Leading change involves empathy - putting myself in the other person\'s shoes and understanding why they feel the way they do, and how we can aid them in preparing for their new normal. There is science behind it and the best change programs combine consumer research, marketing, communicating, leadership coaching, upskilling, and more. As an SAP employee, I was assigned to create SAP’s change methodology for SAP S/4HANA when A2O with Personas evolved into S/4HANA with Fiori. I found that we needed to do more change activities, not less, because we were no longer customizing systems to look just like the customers\' old, broken ones. I’ve been involved in several global deployments of S4 and have enjoyed the challenges my team and I face aligning change practices with agile methodologies. It\'s exciting to be on the front lines of incorporating how people adapt to change and learning in their real lives into how we embrace SAP transformation.I love working with a team to dive into change and learning challenges, and build successful programs based on the ADKAR methodology. We can forecast change barriers before they happen, and identify motivators for helping workers be part of the change, instead of feeling like victims of change. As a global leader in 3M as well as at SAP, I had the opportunity to collaborate with and manage people from around the world. Getting to share my experience and challenge them to bring their own thoughts to solve challenges is a rewarding part of my career. In addition to my “day job,” I was the 2021 chair of the 3M Diverse Abilities Network, a global Employee Resource Network sanctioned by 3M. The opportunity to create a more inclusive workplace for individuals of all abilities was a privilege and provided valuable experience with influencing others and engaging with people of diverse backgrounds.
