About Amy Sladczyk Hancock
Ms. Hancock\'s 20 + year AMLaw 100 law firm career has been focused on recruiting and maximizing the development and value of the talent capital of her firms and has spanned all areas of the attorney life cycle, including but not limited to: recruiting, orientation and integration, lawyer development (career counseling, work allocation/utilization, performance appraisals, partnership promotions, training, mentoring), retention, pro bono, alumni engagement and DE & I initiatives. She\'s been a Mgr and Dir of Atty PD, Recruiting and HR at 3 international, AMLAW 100 law firms, a litigation boutique and now a full service TX-based firm and is also a nationally-known public speaker, author and industry leader. She was elected Chair of the Professional Development Consortium an organization with over 750 members in law firm and school PD roles. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center (for the legal externship program and a law practice mgmt. class) and was a co-creator and founder of their “Passport to Success” program, a development program designed to ensure 1L law students are taught business and other professionalism skills to successfully distinguish and give them a competitive edge in the legal marketplace. She delivered this program at the law school for 5 consecutive years and developed a similar program at UT and SMU law schools.During law school, Amy was elected by the Trial Advocacy Committee (comprised of students and faculty members) to the Order of the Barristers: one of the “top ten litigators” in the graduating class to be recognized on a national level as a skilled litigator/competition participant, May 1997. Amy also served as the Public Relations and Judging Director of the Board of Advocates, sat on the Career Services and Trial Advocacy Faculty-Selected Committees, was an elected member of the Student Bar Assn, a national mock trial participant and winner, a Texas Law Fellowship recipient, and served as the Law Day Coordinator for the Student Recruitment and Orientation Committee.Judicial Clerkship: Judicial Intern for the Honorable Robert Gammage & James A.
